Many of us have played instruments as children. For those who chose to continue beyond primary school and beyond there are at times many obstacles that have nothing to do with music that rob us of the enjoyment that we had as children.
The proposed product attempts to address these obstacles and allow one segment of the music playing population to overcome some of these obstacles and still enjoy the playing experience. To that end the brief I have defined for this project is to design and build a deployable practice violin that eliminates the hassle of travelling and practice, allows the user to record and play their lessons and practice sessions and most importantly stays true to the essence of the instrument. The last criterion is quite important as part of the pleasure in playing an instrument has to do with the "feel" o f the instrument in your hand. My aim is replicate as much of this "feel" from the actual instrument as I can in my instrument. A deployable instrument that allows the user to fold the instrument, go to their lessons, record their lesson, go home and be able to practice without disturbing their neighbors. |
